Recently, 37 international students majoring in International Trade at the School of Economics and International College of Zhejiang University of Finance and Economics visited Hangzhou Bio-Sincerity Pharma-Tech Co., Ltd. (“Bio-Sincerity”) under the guidance of Professor Liu Yiqun. Focusing on pharmaceutical international trade, drug registration practices, and the cultivation of international talent, the visit aimed to further deepen university-enterprise exchange and promote the effective integration of professional education with practical industry experience in the pharmaceutical sector.

The visiting students came from countries along the Belt and Road and emerging markets, including Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Indonesia, Vietnam, and Saudi Arabia. With diverse cultural backgrounds and academic training in international trade, the students gained first-hand insights into the development practices and international business layout of a Chinese pharmaceutical R&D service enterprise through on-site visits and thematic exchanges.

Dr. Jiang Xue, Head of Bio-Sincerity’s International Business Department, welcomed the faculty and students. She delivered a systematic introduction to the company’s development history, the CRO business model, drug international registration procedures, and key aspects of pharmaceutical international trade. She noted that as collaboration across the global pharmaceutical industry chain continues to deepen, cross-border drug registration, alignment of quality standards, adaptation to regulatory policies, and communication of technical documentation have placed higher demands on the internationalization capabilities of enterprises. These developments have also created a practical need for interdisciplinary talent with knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry, a foundation in international trade, and cross-cultural communication skills.

During the discussion session, the international students actively raised questions on topics including pharmaceutical international trade practices, drug registration requirements in different countries, quality control systems, technology transfer, and overseas market access. Drawing on the company’s business experience and practical cases, Dr. Jiang provided detailed responses to the students’ questions. The exchange was active and substantive, helping students gain a deeper understanding of the pharmaceutical R&D service industry and the pathways for drug internationalization.

Dr. Jiang also introduced Bio-Sincerity’s international business development direction, demand for international talent, career development pathways, and potential cooperation opportunities. She stated that Bio-Sincerity has always attached great importance to building an international talent team and looks forward to attracting more outstanding professionals who understand overseas markets, possess professional knowledge, and demonstrate cross-cultural communication capabilities through university-enterprise exchange, internship programs, employment cooperation, and other channels. Such efforts will provide talent support for the company’s overseas business expansion and the enhancement of its global service capabilities.

Professor Liu Yiqun expressed appreciation for Bio-Sincerity’s warm reception and professional sharing. He noted that the visit provided international students with an important opportunity to engage with China’s pharmaceutical industry practices, helping them connect classroom learning with real-world industry scenarios and further understand the professional characteristics and practical requirements of pharmaceutical international trade. He added that the activity also laid a solid foundation for deeper cooperation between the university and the company in talent cultivation, internship and employment programs, and industry exchange.

The exchange not only broadened the international students’ understanding of pharmaceutical international trade and the CRO industry, but also created a meaningful opportunity for Bio-Sincerity to strengthen university-enterprise cooperation and expand its channels for international talent development.
